Early Primary

The Early Primary program at Thuringia International School supports the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of young children. Children have opportunities for structured activities and constructive play. Students develop language and literacy skills in a context that is nurturing and child-centred.

 

The school can admit children who, at the beginning of the school year, are four years old and above.

» Children who are between 4 and 5 on 1 August preceding the school year will be categorized as EP1

» Children who are between 5 and 6 on 1 August preceding the school year will be categorized as EP2

EP1 children will move to EP2 during the following school year.

EP2 children will move to grade 1 during the following school year.

Regulations

To enrol in the Early Primary programme children must be:

» 4 years old by 1 August preceding the school year

» Fully toilet-trained

» Able to manage a full day of school without requiring sleep during the early afternoon
