Scholarship Policy

ThIS provides financial support for families whose children meet the school’s admissions criteria but do not have sufficient financial resources to enrol their child at school.

There is currently a waiting list for scholarship places in some grades. Please contact us to find out about details.

Tuition Scholarship

In cases where a family earns €60,000 net or less per year, an application may be made to the school’s Business Office for a Tuition Scholarship. Parents must provide evidence of family income. There is a maximum of two scholarship awards per family. The school offers scholarships to a maximum of 30% of students per grade.

Tuition fees for students awarded scholarships are based around family net income, subject to a minimum monthly fee of €225. The fee for the eldest child in families with average monthly net income under €3000 is calculated as 10% of income. The fee for the eldest child in families with monthly net income between €3000 and €5000 is calculated as 10% of the first €3000 of income and 15% for additional income, i.e. an income of €4200 would entail tuition fees of €480 (3000*10%+1200*15%). Tuition fees for the second child awarded a scholarship in a family are calculated as half that of the first child. All calculations resulting in an amount below the minimum fee are set at the minimum fee.

The scholarship reduction is also applied to the registration fee, which is set at the equivalent of one month tuition (minimum €225). Campus development fees are waived while a student continues to receive a scholarship. Scholarship reductions are not available for the bus shuttle service and lunch programmes. Applications must be renewed annually by the end of April preceding the new school year. The award of a scholarship in one year does not guarantee ensuing awards. Students must intend to remain at ThIS for a minimum period of one year to be entitled to a scholarship. Students must be enrolled at ThIS for grades 9 and 10 to be eligible for a Tuition Scholarship in grades 11 and 12.

Families enrolled or employed by ThIS in 2013 or before are entitled to make an application under the previous scholarship conditions in circumstances where these are more beneficial than those outlined above.
