Welcome

ThIS Weimar - Welcome

“To educate, empower and inspire!”

Message from the Director

Welcome to Thuringia International School Weimar, now in our second decade of providing an international learning experience for children of expatriates living in Germany as well as host country nationals. With high aspirations, an eye to the future, a welcoming community, and dedicated and caring teachers it is a privilege to us all to be part of ThIS.

Please visit our school. What you will find is an amazing learning environment created by great teachers. They are recruited from all over the world and form a skilled, hard working team who keep the learning and well-being of their students as the primary focus. The quality of instruction they deliver is all about making learning meaningful, to nurture individual talents, the intellectual, social and personal development of our students.

We are an IBO World School, and offer the following programmes: Primary Years Programme PYP - Early Primary through grade 5, the Cambridge Secondary 1 curriculum - grades 6-8, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education Curriculum IGCSE - grades 9-10, and the IB Diploma DP programme - grades 11-12.

We value the opportunity to participate in the growth of the state of Thuringia and to work in a country with a rich history alongside a dynamic present and future. ThIS is the only private international school in the state of Thuringia and a member in good standing of the Council of International Schools (CIS), the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), and the Association of German International Schools (AGIS).

Sincerely,

Philip Armstrong
